The Graduate Apprenticeship programme offers an alternative new way to work whilst you gain a BSc (Hons) Degree in Software Development from the University of Strathclyde. You will gain valuable work experience along with your degree.

What might a typical day in this job look like?
We are a fast moving company, with millions of lines of code, hundreds of customers, and new technical challenges every day. You will gain insight into how to work as part of a team, how to work with code and manage changes in an always changing environment, growing your commercial programming experience, and helping to change the worldwide travel market.
What will I learn?
The IT: Software Development degree is a bespoke four-year Graduate Apprenticeship programme. Learners will acquire underpinning knowledge and understanding via a blended online learning and on-campus delivery mode with core IT competencies being developed through an integrated work-based learning curriculum. The on-campus delivery will allow apprentices to hone their programming and software engineering skills with support from experienced academics.
During Years 1 and 2 of the degree, you will study core modules addressing Programming, Software Engineering, Web and Database Development, Computational Thinking and Professional Issues.
Years 3 and 4 you will to develop higher level cognitive skills and enable the continued integration of knowledge, professional competencies and transferable skills through two more extensive work-based Integrated Projects.
What qualification or qualities are required?
We are seeking candidates who are eligible to attain entry to a university through a traditional route, but recognise the benefits of taking an alternative learning path.
Applicants will typically have 4 Highers (minimum B grades) including either Mathematics, Computing Science or Physics, and preferably National 5 English.
Experience with MySQL, with knowledge of relational database design
